How JobRecon earns revenue while keeping career tools free
Last Updated: February 2026
Our Commitment
JobRecon is a free career translation tool for military service members, veterans, and their families. We will never charge veterans for access to career matching, salary data, or job search features. To keep these tools free, we participate in affiliate programs and sponsorship partnerships that generate revenue when users engage with recommended services.
What This Means
Some links on JobRecon — particularly in career detail pages, training recommendations, and certification resources — are affiliate links. When you click one of these links and take a qualifying action (such as enrolling in a course, signing up for a service, or making a purchase), JobRecon may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
These affiliate relationships never influence:
- •Which career matches appear in your results
- •The order or ranking of career recommendations
- •The salary data, employment statistics, or job market information we display
- •Whether a training program or certification is recommended for your career path
Career recommendations are generated by AI analysis of military-to-civilian skill alignment using federal data sources (O*NET, BLS, DMDC crosswalks). Affiliate relationships are applied after recommendations are generated — they do not affect the recommendation engine.
Affiliate Partners
JobRecon currently participates in the following affiliate programs:
Coursera
JobRecon is a participant in the Coursera Affiliate Program. When we recommend Coursera courses, professional certificates, or degree programs relevant to your civilian career path, links to Coursera may earn JobRecon a commission on qualifying enrollments. Coursera offers thousands of courses from leading universities and companies, many of which align with military-to-civilian career transitions.
Future Partners
As JobRecon grows, we may add additional affiliate partnerships with training providers, certification bodies, and career service platforms. This page will be updated to reflect any new relationships. All affiliate content will continue to be clearly labeled.
How We Label Affiliate Content
Affiliate and sponsored content on JobRecon is always identified with one or more of the following:
- •An 'Affiliate' or 'Sponsored' badge near the content
- •Disclosure text such as 'We may earn a commission' near affiliate links
- •Visual distinction from organic (non-affiliate) recommendations
We follow Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines for affiliate disclosure. If you ever encounter content that you believe should be labeled and isn't, please contact us.
Your Choices
You are never required to click an affiliate link. In many cases, you can navigate directly to a provider's website instead. Using affiliate links costs you nothing extra and helps support free career tools for the military community.
